  • Must be a registered nurse (R.N.) with an unrestricted California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) R.N. license
  • Graduate of an accredited family or adult gerontological nurse practitioner program with a master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited university within 18 months of the start of the residency program which is Oct. 3, 2022 (N.P. program completion cannot be prior to April 1, 2021).
  • Ability to work full-time in a practice setting at least 40 hours per week
  • Must be nationally board certified as an FNP or AGPCNP through ANCC or AANP (see specific certification deadlines that apply to you below)
  • Ability to provide the following credentialing documents (see specific certification deadlines based upon your group below).
    • California BRN unrestricted registered nurse
    • California nurse practitioner certification
    • California furnishing number
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • National Provider Identification (NPI) number
    • Completed Schedule II Controlled Substances course
    • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license

Applicants are strongly advised to plan well in advance to meet these deadlines. Waiting to start the certification process until you are offered an interview or are accepted into the program may not allow enough time to meet the deadlines, which cold cause you to be dropped from the program.
